The Hays Arts Council
and the Hays Sister Cities Project
are proud to announce
an exciting new art competition
for elementary, middle & high school students. 

This art competition is in keeping with the Sister Cities International program "Young Artists Showcase"  in which youth from around the world are encouraged to express their interpretation of the program's mission of  "promoting peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation through one individual, one community at a time." 

Though only high school entries will be eligible for submission to the international competition, each school level (elementary, middle & high school) will be eligible for cash awards totaling nearly $500 and honorable mention recognition - with an exhibition planned to showcase all works.

All 2-dimensional art forms are eligible including: watercolor, computer generated art, pen & ink, photography, 2-D mixed media, charcoal, etc.   (crayons, markers and such are also appropriate & eligible media for younger students)
