Our creative community has cultivated and celebrated an appreciation for the arts for generations.  As the first arts council formed in the state of Kansas, the Hays Arts Council takes great pride in working to make Hays, Kansas a "cultural oasis on the prairie."  Our mission  statement reads, "Art improves the quality of life. The Hays Arts Council promotes the visual, performing and literary arts for the people of our region.  We support creative expression, foster arts education, and bring cultural experiences to the community.”
