The
Hays Arts Council
presented the American Family
Theater Company musical production
of
"Pippi
Longstocking"
on Friday, May 1 in
the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts
Center. The HAC hosted over 850 2nd
& 3rd grade students from Hays,
Ellis, Victoria, Plainville and LaCrosse at the afternoon matinee.
Nearly 400 adults and children
attended the public performance that
evening, which was followed by a
"meet & greet" autograph session in
the Beach/Schmidt lobby. This
special event was made possible
through the support of Bob & Pat
Schmidt, Kansas Arts Commission,
Mid-America Arts Alliance and
National Endowment for the Arts.
